About 450 militants of Arab and foreign nationalities arrived from Idlib Governorate to Ukraine to participate in the fight against the Russian forces, just less than 3 days after they left the Syrian territory, passing through the Turkish territory.
Relatives of armed men who arrived in Ukraine told Sputnik that leaders of the “Hayat Tahrir al-Sham” organization, the current front of the terrorist “Jabhat al-Nusra” organization, held a series of meetings early last week with leaders of the “Turkistan Islamic Party” on the one hand. And with leaders of the “Ansar al-Tawhid” and “Guardians of Religion” factions on the other side, during which a decision was reached to allow specific samples of foreign militants belonging to the “Turkistani”, “Huras al-Din” and “Ansar al-Tawhid” to leave for Ukraine through Turkish territory.
The sources added that the majority of foreign militants who left Syria for Ukraine are HTS cadres who have a track record of problems with leaders of HTS, and they have recently been subjected to severe harassment, reaching the point of imprisonment and threats to set up borders, before these attacks came. Opportunity as a compromise that suits both parties.
The sources indicated that this opportunity came across for them and their competitors inside Idlib, by getting rid of them and sending them to fight against the Russian forces in Ukraine, and at the same time they could have a new opportunity and an acceptable financial return.
The sources confirmed that “Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham” provided them with legal guarantees for those who wish to join their families with them during the coming period, as a matter of encouragement.
The sources revealed that the number of foreign militants who arrived in Ukraine from several areas in Idlib and its countryside reached about 150, most of whom belong to nationalities (Belgian, French, Chinese, Moroccan, Tunisian, Chechen, British), while the other 300 militants are from several nationalities. Areas in the countryside of Idlib and Aleppo, most of whom are fighting in the ranks of “Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham” and “Ansar al-Tawhid”, while a smaller number belong to the “Faylaq al-Sham” and “National Liberation Front” who are loyal to the Turkish army.
Regarding the material temptations that were promised to the departing militants, the sources confirmed that the salaries that the Syrian fighter will receive will range between 1200-1500 dollars, while she denied knowing the size of what foreign militants will receive.
Regarding the arrival of this huge batch within a short period of time from Syrian territory to Ukraine, the sources said that the process of transferring the militants took place in 3 batches, starting last Thursday. The process of assembling them was supervised by figures with apparent authority, and it is likely that they were from the Turkish intelligence.
The source confirmed that the gunmen arrived in Ukraine on the night of Sunday, to cut off contact with them since this morning, and no additional details were known about their destination inside Ukraine or even the region they arrived in.
