The Manchester United team, including Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, led by German Ralf Rangnick, returned to training today, Tuesday, after their humiliating 4-1 defeat against City, Sunday.
Ronaldo was among those stars who were photographed heading to Carrington, the headquarters of the “Red Devils” training, in their luxury cars, before their next Premier League match against Tottenham next Saturday.
Speculation was raised about Ronaldo’s absence after the derby and his failure to return to Manchester United, especially since Rangnick had previously demanded that all players undergo rehabilitation in Manchester instead of traveling abroad.
And the newspaper “Daily Mail” reported that Rangnick hopes to overcome the defeat against City, which caused United to drop to fifth place in the list of Premier League teams.
However, it may be the disputes in the Manchester United dressing room that threaten the team’s chances of qualifying for the Champions League next season.
Ronaldo, 37, was excluded from the Manchester derby due to a thigh muscle injury, according to the coach, but the Don, instead of sticking to the support of his colleagues on the bench, decided to travel to Portugal.
Katia Aveiro, the sister of the Portuguese star, added more fuel to the fire when she liked one of the posts on the “Instagram” site, which confirmed that the absence of the Don came for technical and tactical reasons from coach Rangnick, and not because of muscular problems, as the latter claims.
