Brazilian football fan killed by gunfire

A soccer fan in Brazil was killed, today, Sunday, during a clash with fans of the MAF team in the city of Belo Horizonte.
“AFP” said that the accident occurred hours before a match between the teams of Cruzeiro and Atletico Mineiro, according to what the local police announced, as the 25-year-old fan was shot in the stomach and later died in hospital.
In the same context, a passerby, who was at the same scene of the clash, was shot in the shoulder, but the authorities described his condition as “stable.”
Police said that about 50 fans engaged in gun battles in the streets, in which gunshots were heard, several cars were smashed and windows of some houses were smashed.
It is noteworthy that such incidents are not unusual for Brazil, where three weeks ago, a fan was killed in Sao Paulo during a fight near the Palmeiras stadium.
Cruzeiro, who is currently playing in the second division, was scheduled to face Atletico Mineiro, the defending champion, later on Sunday.
