A Russian film enters the program of a film festival in Belgrade

The 50th Fest International Film Festival kicked off Friday 25 February in Belgrade.

The festival was inaugurated by the well-known film director and director of the Russian Army Theater, Amir Kosturica, and the famous Yugoslav Serbian artist, Miki Manuelovic.

The two artists mentioned in the opening ceremony were awarded the “Victorious Belgrade” award for their outstanding role in the development of Serbian art.

The head of the jury at the festival, the well-known Serbian actor, Milos Bekovic, said at the opening ceremony that the Fest has been an oasis of freedom and creativity for 50 years.

The festival opened with the screening of the Serbian film “Mrs. Panovic – 2021” directed by Serbian Stefan Arsenevich.

The festival will screen 88 films from the 6 programmes. The main program includes 20 films representing different countries, including the film “The Case” directed by the Russian Alexei German Jr.

It is noteworthy that over the past 50 years, more than 4 million people have watched 4 thousand films representing the whole world. The famous Russian and international director, Nikita Mikhalkov, is expected to attend the festival.
