Today, Sunday, a Belarusian agency announced that the Ukrainian delegation is heading to the Belarusian city of Gomel to conduct negotiations with Russia.
And the state agency “Belta” quoted the Russian President’s aide, Vladimir Medinsky, who said that in the last moments and before the departure date, the Ukrainian delegation announced that it was heading to Gomel to meet with the Russians.
In the same context, Russian presidential spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, announced that Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko asked Putin, after his talks with Zelensky, not to withdraw the Russian delegation to conduct negotiations with Ukraine.
According to him, the Russian side is fully prepared for negotiations and they are waiting for the Ukrainians.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he had held talks with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko.
In the same context, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky commented on the news of the Russian delegation’s arrival in Belarus, saying: “Warsaw, Budapest, Istanbul and Baku, but not Minsk and not the territory of Belarus can become a platform.”
