Madagascar.. Cyclone “Imnati” kills 4 people and displaces thousands

Cyclone “Imnati” has killed at least 4 people and displaced tens of thousands of people in Madagascar, local authorities said Friday.
And the National Office of Risk Management issued a non-final report stating that “4 deaths were recorded in Varavangana” coastal in the southeast, and about 72,200 people were affected, and roads and a bridge were cut off.
Cyclone Imanati hit the island at the weekend, with winds of up to 140 kilometers per hour.
Madagascar, one of the poorest in the world and located in the vast Indian Ocean, is suffering from the worst drought in 40 years, according to the United Nations, which attributes the crisis to climate change.
Cyclone Batsirai swept the island on February 5, killing 121 people and causing damage to about 270,000 people.
The island is prone to many storms and cyclones between November and April each year.
