The President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Peter Maurer, expressed his “grave concern for the safety of Ukrainian society”, calling for “support for international humanitarian law, the protection of civilians and basic services.”
Maurer wrote in a tweet via Twitter: “We are very concerned about the safety of Ukrainian society. Our message to the parties to the conflict is clear: support international humanitarian law, protect civilians and basic services,” stressing that “International Red Cross teams are teams for urgent humanitarian needs and must be able to continue her life-saving work.”
