Members of the Libyan Internal Security Service arrested one of those involved in the case that shook public opinion during 2013 in the city of Sirte, which is the robbery of the funds of the Central Bank of Libya branch in Sirte.
The perpetrator admitted that he carried out this operation jointly with others, in one of the most prominent robberies recorded in the history of Libya.
The Internal Security Agency called on the rest of the security services to cooperate in order to apprehend all those involved in this case, after coordination with the Public Prosecution Office.
It is noteworthy that the bank’s branch in Sirte witnessed in 2013 a robbery on a truck transporting money, and the theft of a financial shipment that included 53 million Libyan dinars, along with millions of dollars in other foreign currencies.
