Putin congratulates People’s Artist Nikolai Rastorguev on his 65th birthday

Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated the People’s Artist of Russia, Nikolai Rastorguev, on his 65th birthday.

The congratulatory telegram was published Monday, February 21, on the Kremlin’s website.

And the telegram stated: “You have successfully realized yourself in the creative field of professionals, and you have gained wide popularity as a talented artist, head of the legendary musical group “Lyupi”. Of course, your responsible patriotic position, and your great contribution to the implementation of national and popular charitable initiatives and projects deserved deep respect.”

The Russian President wished the People’s Artist, Rastorguev health, prosperity and more new songs.
It is reported that Rastorguev was born on February 21, 1957 in the Ramensky district, on the outskirts of Moscow. Over the years, he has performed as a singer and guitarist in various bands.
In 1989, the music producer, Igor Matvienko, formed the national musical group “Lyupi” and invited Rastorguev to lead it.
The artist was awarded a number of awards and governmental honors, including the National Order of Merit of the Fourth Degree (2007), the Order of Honor (2012), the “Alexander Nevsky Medal” (2020) and the Russian Federal Security Service Award (2006).
