The strangest intruder is born as a worm that enters the body and “explodes” as a flower

The natural world hides many strange secrets, as organisms and plants use complex methods to ensure their continuity, in light of the harsh conditions that they have adapted to millions of years ago.
Some parasitic organisms and plants usually depend on a host in order to secure an intermediary that helps them to skip one of their life stages, and provide them with an abundant source of food without any trouble.

The parasite known as “cactus mistletoe” has developed for itself a unique way to secure a good source of food and water under harsh conditions, where the life of this parasite forms a cycle of which bird feces are an essential part.

Birds drop the parasite’s seeds through their feces after devouring them. What looks like a strange worm that enters the cactus and inhabits it for months comes out of the feces, according to the report published in “BBCEarth”, on “YouTube”.

The parasite grows inside the cactus and obtains water and food from it, and after a year of controlling the cactus’ watery arteries, this parasite “explodes” in the form of a mass of flowers on the cactus, so the birds return and devour the seeds, in a natural circle that almost does not end.
