The film “Notre Dame is Burning” will be shown on March 16, about the fire in Notre Dame Cathedral, directed by Jean-Jacques Anod, known for directing the film about the Battle of Stalingrad, “The Enemy at the Gate”.
This was announced Thursday, February 3, by the French television channel BFMTV.
The budget of the film amounted to 30 million euros, and starring the actor, Samel Laparte, who is known for his participation in the filming of the two television series “Adel’s Life” and “The Mysterious Murder of Agatha Christie.”
The director said that the film restores in every detail the chronology of the devastating fire that took place in the center of Paris. Meanwhile, documentary footage takes up about 5% of the total film time. The film’s scenes were often filmed inside real buildings, notably in the Borges cathedral.
“We used real fire, because the use of computer graphics reduces the effect,” said Jean-Jacques Anode.
It is reported that the fire in Notre Dame cathedral broke out on the evening of April 15, 2019. As the investigation proved, the fire started in the tower area, where repair work took place hours before and the flame destroyed the wooden ceiling and the tower that collapsed, then burned on the floor of the cathedral. The fire was only put out the next morning. The fire lasted more than 15 hours.
It is worth noting that the Notre Dame Cathedral will be 860 years old next year. Its foundation stone was laid in 1163.
