“App fog”…a phenomenon that affects smartphone addicts extensively and destroys their social relationships

New research has revealed the degree to which many people are obsessed with their smart apps, and the tax they pay as a result of their addiction.
And a new survey of 1966 smartphone users found that 25 percent of them suffer from a phenomenon known as “app fog,” according to the British newspaper, “Daily Mail”.
The phenomenon of “application fog” occurs as a result of confusion when using multiple applications to message friends, as smartphone users forget who is using the application, and therefore cannot stay up to date on the conversations that are taking place.
The YouGov survey found that one in three people said they had missed a night out or an important event with friends as a result.
One in 10 said it caused them to lose contact with a friend or negatively affect their relationship.
A “YouGov” survey revealed that the number of people affected by the “application fog” phenomenon rose to 38 percent when they used 3 smart applications, and 43 percent for those who used 5 or more applications.
“Having 5 or 6 different messaging apps puts more stress on our busy lives,” said Amandine Lee Pape, co-founder of Element, the secure messaging app that conducted the research.

“There are so many sounds going off all the time that people can’t manage them,” he said. “It’s frustrating to check multiple apps and jump between them to text different friends.”
The new research also found that young people’s relationships were more affected by “app fog” than older generations, noting that about 57 percent of people between the ages of 18 and 34 forgot to reply to a friend, which drops significantly for users who increase They are 55 years old.
