A Russian doctor explains the difference of “Omicron” from other strains

The course of the disease in the case of infection of adults with the “omicron” mutant of the Corona virus is milder, compared to other strains of Covid-19.
This was announced by the Director of the Clinical Diagnostic and Treatment Laboratory at the Vitro-Siberia Company, the epidemiologist Dr. Andrei Pozdnyakov in an interview with the Russian “Novosti” agency.
He said that the course of the disease caused by the “Omicron” mutant is milder in the event that adults are infected with it than the course of the disease caused by the “Delta” mutant.

He pointed out that vaccinated people can also be infected with the “Omicron” mutant, but its course is often mild or does not provoke any obvious symptoms and does not require any therapeutic measures except to remove symptoms.

The doctor said that there is a lot of evidence for this in other countries, noting that “Omicron” disease is developing very quickly and replacing the “Delta” strain of the Corona virus, and that it affects many, but those who are transferred to hospitals are few and the percentage of dangerous paths of the disease is low. “We wish we had the same thing,” he added.

The doctor recalled that vaccination against “Covid-19” and boosting vaccination after certain periods of time are considered the only effective treatment method to prevent the development of the dangerous course of the disease.
