British media reported that a group of workers found during the restoration of a school the skeleton of a 120-year-old crocodile in the British province of Wales.
She stated that the crocodile skeleton was displayed in a hall so that the students could view it.
And the BBC reported that until the discovery of the skeleton of the crocodile in 2019, it was believed that the story of a creature buried under the school was just a myth.
She confirmed that the “legendary” saltwater crocodile is now taking center stage in the school after more than two years of restoration.
“I heard a story that parents and school staff had buried a crocodile under the school sometime between the two world wars,” said school principal Dr. Neil Pike. “But I thought it was a myth and didn’t notice anything until the crocodile was laid on the floor of the hall!” .
The origin of the skeleton and the story of its existence under the grounds of a school in South Wales remain uncertain.
However, the anecdote told by locals is that a man who returned from service in World War I brought the body back with him as a school souvenir. They also said that the crocodile was initially displayed but was then hidden under the floorboards to protect it from damage during the conflict.
