The sky of the Prophet’s Mosque witnessed the unique “Mammatus” phenomenon, coinciding with heavy rain and cold weather during the past days.
And the Prophet’s Mosque Affairs Agency published on its account via “Twitter” pictures of the clouds, in addition to a video of rain falling on the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina.

Mammatus clouds are among the most bizarre and surprising natural phenomena.
The Mammatus clouds are a group of clustered clouds connected to each other, resembling wrinkled cotton grains, or in the form of long tubes, which is the prominent classical form of this phenomenon.
These clouds are usually formed when the upper and middle layers of the atmosphere are wet and the bottom of these layers is a dry layer, resulting in a rapid rise and fall of air currents that mix with water droplets, thus forming the Mammatus clouds.
