80 ostriches run hysterically in the streets of China after escaping from a farm

Social media users shared a video clip of more than 80 hysterical ostriches running in the streets of a Chinese town, after the farmer failed to properly close the barn gate on them.
No injuries were reported after the birds fled the streets of Chongzhou, a city in southern China, over the weekend, according to the China Global Television Network.
The farm from which the ostriches escaped was raising more than 300 birds.
With the help of the local police, the farmer eventually managed to retrieve most of the escaped ostriches.

The ostrich is the largest bird in the world, and can reach a height of 9 feet, can cover up to 16 feet in just one step, and can reach speeds of 45 miles per hour.

It is noteworthy that the escape of ostriches is not the first time that animals have taken off in cities, in October 2020 a herd of cows escaped from a dairy farm in Victoria, Australia.
In September 2021, five zebras roamed around a town in Maryland for several days, after escaping from a private farm.
