For the sixth time, the Tottenham star is the best player in South Korea

The South Korean Football Association announced on Wednesday that Tottenham Hotspur striker Son Heung-min won the award for the best player in South Korea this year for the sixth time, a record.

Son topped the vote that took place between KFA officials and journalists in South Korea, ahead of Fenerbahce defender Kim Min-jae, to win the award for the third year in a row.

Son previously won the award in 2013, 2014, and 2017.

Son, 29, scored 22 goals with Tottenham in all competitions during the 2020-2021 season, and scored four goals with South Korea during 2021 in the World Cup qualifiers.

While Chelsea’s Ji So-yeon won the Women’s Award for the sixth time as well, having won it in 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2019.

Gee won the Women’s Premier League, League Cup and FA Cup last season. Chelsea finished second in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
