The American citizen, Conrado Estrada, returned to his normal life, after undergoing plastic surgery for his “strange” nose, after which he dispensed with putting on a muzzle to hide it.
The nose of Conrado Estrada, 57, a construction worker, had grown in a “bulbing” shape, to the point that he had difficulty eating and breathing, as he used to put a muzzle to hide it, before the Corona pandemic, according to the New York Post.
Conrado Estrada told the newspaper, “They were staring at me.. The children were asking their mothers what happened to me, so I avoided this by using a muzzle all the time,” as his nose was not only a cosmetic nuisance, but was obstructing breathing, and causing snoring, as “My nose reached my lip, and every time I took a bite, he would touch the spoon,” he explained.
While a chance encounter with plastic surgeon Dr. Thomas Romo, director of facial reconstructive plastic surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital, was the beginning of a construction worker’s life returning to normal, the doctor said he was “kind of excited” to meet Estrada when he showed up at his home In Bronxville with a crew of painters about five months ago, he said he couldn’t resist pulling Estrada aside and telling him he wanted surgery. “I don’t mind telling people what I think,” he said.
According to the newspaper, Conrado Estrada suffered for years from a disfigured nose due to rhinitis, as people with this condition have thick, pitted skin at the tip of the nose due to enlarged sebaceous (oil) glands, an inflammatory skin disease. I spent six years seeing doctors and dermatologists and nothing improved.. Doctor Thomas Romo saw me and hugged me and said he would help me.”
“I haven’t seen rhinitis like this in 20 years,” explained Dr Romo, who operated on Estrada’s nose. “He believes this must affect Conrado’s life, his relationship with others, his ability to get a job, and his self-respect.”
Romo used to do “free” work through the Little Baby “Face Foundation”, which is dedicated to providing surgery for underserved children with facial abnormalities, explaining: “A lot of people don’t know how to fix this thing… and insurance won’t cover it.” It is necessarily healthy.”
And about Estrada’s condition after the operation, Romo said: Not only did his face shape change.. He looked like he had won an Olympic gold medal.. He’s a smiling man now.. I feel good about him! ”
He added, “Trust makes a person better and more productive in society…I do everything in my power to help my community…I want this community to thrive.”
While Conrado Estrada commented on his condition, saying: “I believe that God sent an angel to take care of me..This is how I see Doctor Romo.”
