An Australian is forbidden to leave Israel until after 8000 years!

The Australian father’s divorce suit prevented two children from leaving Israel for nearly 8000 years, after his ex-wife filed a complaint against him asking him to provide alimony for his children.

Australian Noam Habert, 44, moved to Israel in 2012 with the aim of being close to his family.

Then his ex-wife submitted to the court a “travel ban request”, preventing him from leaving Israel for any reason until he pays “future debts” from the alimony amounts for his children, which amounted to $3.34 million in 2013.

Until the father pays the total amount, he is prohibited from leaving Israel before December 31, 1999, without any possibility of obtaining work or leave exemptions.

“Since 2013, I have been detained in Israel,” Hubbert explained.

Habert is believed to be one of those stranded in Israel because of the divorce law.

“There are other Australians like him who are being persecuted by the Israeli judiciary just because they were married to Israeli women,” Hubbert told News.com.au.
