An American woman was surprised by the presence of dog food in her bags, instead of gifts worth thousands of dollars, after returning from the airport.
Gina Sheldon, from Portsmouth, New Hampshire, USA, told ABC that she had returned from a trip to Europe, only to find that all the gifts she had bought there had disappeared upon her return home.
She said: “I opened the third bag in which I kept all the gifts and things that I also bought for myself, and it was exchanged for dog food, an old shirt and a bottle of shaving cream.”
Sheldon had spent 11 days traveling through Italy, and stopped in the French capital, Paris, on her way back home.
She believes the gifts may have been exchanged in the baggage area at Charles de Gaulle Airport in France.
She noted that the missing gifts cost more than $3,000.
The passenger flight was booked by American “Delta”, but managed by Air France.
In a statement, Delta confirmed that it had positively contacted its partners in Air France and passengers to reach a satisfactory solution.
