NASA launches the “largest in history” James Webb Telescope to understand the origin of the universe

Today, Saturday, the US space agency, NASA, launched the James Webb Telescope, which is considered the largest in history, on an Ariane 5 rocket launched from the Kourou space base in French Guiana.
Cairo – Sputnik. The main mission of the James Webb telescope is to obtain information and data that help scientists and researchers understand the origin of the universe better, by penetrating into outer space for a distance of about 1.5 million kilometers from the planet, where it is expected to stabilize in its orbit around the sun after about a month.

The launch of the giant telescope has been postponed three times before, the last of which was last Tuesday, December 21, due to bad weather.

The cost of manufacturing the James Webb Telescope is more than 9 billion dollars, and its area when opened is the size of a tennis court, making it the largest telescope in history.

It is expected that the James Webb Telescope mission will provide a better understanding of how stars and galaxies are formed during the era known as the “cosmic dawn”, or the first stage of the universe’s emergence.

The US space agency “NASA” began designing the James Webb telescope in the early 1990s, and began manufacturing it in 2004 in cooperation with the European and Canadian Space Agency, and it works in the infrared.
