Miss India, Harnaz Sandhu, has been officially crowned Miss Universe 2021.
Sandu, 21, beat 79 contestants from different countries and territories, including runner-up for Miss Paraguay, Nadia Ferreira, and second Miss South Africa, Lalila Mswan.
Sando was awarded the crown by Miss Universe 2020 Andrea Mesa, before making her first tour as the new Miss Universe on stage in the Israeli resort of Eilat overlooking the Red Sea.
The Miss Universe 2021 competition was held 7 months after 27-year-old Miza won the 2020 crown last May.
In a statement before Sunday’s competition, Israel’s Tourism Minister Yoel Razvozov said he was happy to welcome Miss Universe to his country, even with the ongoing fears of the Corona virus.
