The South African company, Phractyl, revealed a new and revolutionary concept of electric aircraft, through its new aircraft, which will bear the name “Macrobat”, which has been given a unique shape in the form of a huge bird, which may resemble, to some extent, the metal bird that appeared in the beautiful cartoon series. “Golden Eagle”, but with different colors and shape details.
The electric plane, which is still under construction, was given a unique way of landing by providing it with legs that take the form of a bird’s legs, and wings tilted upward from the middle, under which propellers with engines were hung, which made it very similar to a giant bird.
The developers assure that the “Macrobat” aircraft will be able to take off and land almost vertically and reach speeds of up to 180 km per hour.
According to the “nplus1” website, the plane was equipped with powerful engines, not only behind the propellers hanging on the wings, but in the “hips, knees and ankles”, with the aim of providing a dynamic landing mechanism for the plane through a mechanism similar to the legs of a bird.
In addition, two track beams are placed under the feet of the aircraft to enable it to move efficiently on the ground, especially on uneven or rough terrain.
During takeoff, the aircraft raises its feet and places them behind the cockpit, i.e. under the tail, which gives good aerodynamics and reduces friction.
