Doctors in New York reported that a 38-year-old patient came to their clinic complaining of persistent nasal congestion.
The man was concerned that his right nostril was constantly blocked, and the otolaryngologist who examined the patient found that an extra tooth had grown in his nose, the New England Journal of Medicine reported.

The examination revealed a curved septum formed from a “white solid mass” in the nostril, and the CT scan confirmed that the tooth was the cause of the difficulty in breathing.
According to doctors, the appearance of a tooth in an atypical place is an extremely rare disease that occurs in about 0.1% of the population.
After an operation, the doctors removed the tooth from the nasal cavity with a length of 14 mm and a width of 10 mm. The doctors concluded that, “Three months after the operation, the patient’s nasal congestion symptoms disappeared.”
