The governor of the Italian region of Veneto announced that Ado Campiol, the creator of the world-famous tiramisu dessert, died today, Monday, at the age of 93.
Agence France-Presse said Campiol was the owner of a restaurant called “Le Piccieri” in the Italian city of Treviso, where he first began serving a mixture of coffee-soaked biscuits and whipped cream in the 1970s, in what was known as the tiramisu dessert.
The dessert, which was created primarily through the fault of Campiol’s wife, who was his chef at the time, according to local media reports, quickly became popular.
Today, the tiramisu dessert has become a staple in Italian cuisine, as well as being very popular with dessert lovers around the world.
Luco Zaia, the governor of the Veneto region, mourned on his Facebook page, Ado Campiol, saying: “With the passing away of Ado Campiol today at the age of 93, Treviso has lost one of the stars of gastronomy. .”
It is mentioned that the classic tiramisu dessert can be prepared by layering biscuits soaked in espresso coffee with whipped cream, then covered with cocoa powder. Currently, there are countless toppings with which this dessert is offered, ranging from fruit to peanut butter and others.
