Japan becomes the first country to have KC-46 aircraft after America

Japan became the first country in the world to have the KC46A, after the United States of America, which is a military aircraft that can carry out military transport and refueling missions in the air.

This was mentioned by “Defense News” magazine, in a report on the plane, noting that Japan had acquired the first 4 planes of this model from the American company “Boeing”.
The American magazine says that Japan’s acquisition of this aircraft represents a milestone in the process of cooperation between the United States of America and Japan in the Indo-Pacific region.

And she added, “This aircraft will play an important role in the security alliance between the two countries,” noting that it can contribute to supporting Japan during disasters with its ability to carry goods and transport people, in addition to being a refueling plane.

The magazine pointed out that the “KC-46A” aircraft will have an important role in the Japanese army, noting that it will contribute to the in-air refueling operations of the US F-35 stealth aircraft, F-15 fighters and other Japanese military aircraft.
What is the importance of refueling planes?

Aircraft refueling represents flying fuel stations equipped with technologies that enable them to refuel warplanes in the air.

The importance of this process is that it doubles the range of the military aircraft, especially in time of war, in addition to saving time for landing and takeoff to refuel on the ground.

Air refueling aircraft becomes even more important when it comes to refueling a warplane while it is flying over areas that do not have airports for landing or where landing is dangerous for military aircraft.
