The Russian Post Service “Pushta Plumb” delivers parcels using transport robots belonging to the Internet company “Yandex”, and the service has already been launched in the “Khamovniki” region of Moscow.

Sputnik – Moscow. “The trolleys started delivering the first parcels today in Khamovniki, and within a month delivery will start from 27 branches by 36 robots,” the company said on its official Telegram channel.

The service is used through the application of the postal operator in the mobile network, and its cost is only one ruble.

“If your address is within the coverage area, the option will be visible after you select Home Delivery,” the company adds.

As the company’s press department said: “It will also be possible to track the delivery status in the application. When the project is launched, courier robots will deliver parcels from four post offices in Khamovniki, and within a month, other Moscow regions will be connected to 23 branches with a coverage radius of 2 kilometres.

“Yandex Rover” is a robot used as a “postman” to transport small loads, the robot is completely independent, it determines its own way, assesses the situation around it and avoids obstacles, and the company says that it is able to drive on city sidewalks at a speed of 5-8 kilometers per hour, and can Work in summer and winter and meet requests in various weather conditions.

The Russian Post annually receives about 2.5 billion letters and invoices and processes about 365 million parcels. The company has 42 thousand post offices across the country. The Russian Federation owns 100% of the shares of the Postal Company.
