A state of outrage prevailed in Sweden after the murder of famous rapper Einar, in an apartment in a suburb of Stockholm.
Einar, 19, whose real name was Nils Grunberg, was killed late Thursday evening, but the police have not arrested anyone so far, according to “Reuters”.
Grunberg first rose to prominence at the age of 16, released four albums, and fans have listened to his songs tens of millions of times on music platforms, winning several Swedish and other Grammy Awards.
Last year, he was kidnapped and beaten by rivals in the profession with links to a Stockholm criminal gang. The court issued prison sentences to several people for their involvement in the kidnapping, including another successful rapper, Yassin Bin.
Sweden has struggled with gang-related violence for years, transforming from one of the lowest rates of firearms crime in Europe to one of the highest in the past two decades.
