Billionaire Elon Musk has continued his rise in the global rankings of the wealthy, as he is no longer only considered the richest person in the world, but he is now worth the same wealth as billionaires Bill Gates and Warren Buffett combined.
The 50-year-old has a net worth of $236 billion, as of Sunday evening, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, while Gates is fourth with $130 billion and Buffett is in tenth place with $103 billion.
Both Gates and Buffett previously held the top rankings of the world’s richest person, while Musk surpassed Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos for the first time to become the world’s richest man, in January with a net worth of $185 billion.
Musk added more than $60 billion to his fortune this year thanks to the strong performance of Tesla stock, as well as the sale of SpaceX shares, raising its value to $100 billion, in a deal that added $11 billion to Musk’s net worth.
