Brazilian legend Pele published a photo on his personal page on the “Instagram” platform, in which he announced that he was happy to return to his home after his discharge from the hospital, which he entered after suffering respiratory problems.
Pele captioned the photo: “When the path is tough, celebrate every step you take. Focus on your happiness. It’s true that I can’t jump anymore, but in the past few days I’ve hit my fist in the air more times than usual. Happy to be home. I want to Thank you everyone. The hospital team who made my stay enjoyable with a very kind and friendly welcome. Thanks also to all those who filled my life with messages of love from afar.”
Pele was released from hospital on Thursday, with Brazilian media reporting that the 80-year-old Brazilian star will continue chemotherapy after surgery to remove a tumor in his intestines on September 4.
Pele had suffered from groin problems for years, could not walk without assistance, and his public appearances were reduced even before the coronavirus pandemic.
