The French President inaugurates an exhibition of masterpieces of French and Russian art in Paris

On September 21, French President Emmanuel Macron will attend the opening ceremony of the exhibition “Morozov Collection” of masterpieces of contemporary art in Paris.

This was announced on Sunday, September 19, by a spokesman for the Elysee Palace, to the Russian “TASS” agency.
He said Morozov’s unique collection of paintings is on display at the Parisian Fondation Louis Vuitton, located in the picturesque Bois de Boulogne.

The French head of state will visit the exhibition center accompanied by his wife, Brigitte. They will be accompanied by French Culture Minister Roslyn Bachelot.

The spokesman recalled that the group of Russian brothers, Mikhail and Ivan Morozov, was shown for the first time outside Russia. It includes more than 200 works of art dating back to the 19th and early 20th centuries, by French painters including Cézanne, Gauguin, Van Gogh, Renoir, Monet, Bonnard, Denis, Matisse, Derain, and Picasso as well as Russian plastic artists, including Vrubel, Malevich, Repin, Larionov, Serov”.

The exhibition was held by the French side in cooperation with the Russian Museums “Hermitage” and “Tretyakov” and the “Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts”. The Elysee Palace confirmed that the exhibition “will become the largest cultural event” in Paris. It will be held within the framework of the so-called “Trianon Dialogue”, a joint Franco-Russian initiative launched in 2017 with the aim of strengthening ties between civil societies in Russia and France on the basis of new forms of cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the cultural field.

The exhibition “The Morozov Collection” of masterpieces of French and Russian contemporary art will open to the public on September 22 and will continue until February 22, 2022.
