Aniston explained that she was ‘unable to move’ when she fell off some stairs, resulting in her being rushed to hospital for an MRI scan. She later had a 9mm disc attached to her which forced her to change her workout plan and go easy on her body. Since the injury, in October 2020, Aniston’s road to recovery mostly consisted of Pilates.
The Morning Show star sought out Pilates to “rehab” her back which has led to the actress doing it three, four times a week as she believes “it really works your body out in a very gentle way.”
Aniston’s injury, she said, taught her to take it easy rather than indulging in overly complicated workouts.
Aniston also theorised that when she threw her back out, she felt it may have been because of a “lunge twist squat move.
“We can’t just do one simple move. We try to add four moves to one.”
When it comes to the one intensive workout which Aniston dreams of getting back to, it is being “able to run, which is my love.”
Though, for now, she is slowly going to “start incorporating” running into her workouts again.
The actress has also shifted from her low-carb diet to a low-carb diet with occasional pasta or bread: “Everyone’s very afraid of the bread basket, and I’m no longer afraid. As long as it’s all done in moderation,” Jennifer Aniston quipped during the interview with People.
Mixing up her low-carb diet, which she has been famously following for years, she has started giving herself a break, allowing herself to have pasta or a sandwich.
Adding carbohydrates back into her diet made a difference Aniston as she felt her body appreciated it: “Like, Oh, thank you! Why are you depriving me of things I love?”
When it comes to Aniston’s mornings, The Morning Show star is “not a breakfast person” and prefers to “naturally do intermittent fasting,” satisfied with her “cup of coffee and my collagen.”
Talking about how she has been switching up her diet and workout routines, Aniston admitted that she “was hitting a stage” in her life where she “wanted to up the health game.
Fans took to twitter to comment on their idol’s affliction, with @filmsaniston saying: Watching this scene after knowing what happened to Jennifer Aniston’s back breaks my heart but also makes me feel SO PROUD on how she did this by herself without using any stunt double. #TheMorningShow.
It comes as always Smiling Productions, the production company behind The Morning Show, filed a lawsuit suit in California federal court against Chubb National Insurance Company for financial losses stemming from the COVID-19 shutdown and the second season delays.
According to THR, the producers estimate that they have lost a total of $44 million as a result of the shutdowns.
The trade explains that Always Smiling has $125 million in cast coverage for The Morning Show, which covers “death, injury, sickness, kidnap, or compulsion by physical force or threat of physical force.”
There is also coverage that accounts for any immediate danger to a shooting location.
Chubb National Insurance Company is opting not to cover items like these, as the insurer asserts that the aforementioned scenarios did not occur during the production.
Chubb has, however, stated that it will pay $1 million, which falls under the producer’s civil authority coverage.
This payment relates to any government mandates that have an impact on facility usage.
Whilst there is currently no telling how this Morning Show-related lawsuit will pan out, THR does note that other insurance companies have been successful when making arguments like Chubb’s.
