Paris Saint-Germain announces the absence of its midfielder at the start of his Champions League campaign

Paris Saint-Germain announced today, Tuesday, September 14, the absence of Italian international midfielder Marco Verratti from the start of the team’s Champions League campaign.

The Paris club said in an official statement that it will miss Verratti’s services when it faces the Belgian club Club Brugge at the start of the group stage matches in the Champions League.

He pointed out that Verratti suffered an injury to his left knee, which will keep him out of matches for at least 10 days.

He pointed out that Verratti suffered this injury during his participation in the Italian national team’s matches in the qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

In addition to Verratti, Saint-Germain is missing on his Belgian trip to Argentine Angel Di Maria, who is suspended, and Spanish newcomer Sergio Ramos has a calf injury that has so far prevented him from making his debut with the Paris club he moved to this summer after the expiration of his contract with Real Madrid.

And Argentine coach Mauricio Pochettino will be able to count against Brugge on his striking attacking force, consisting of the trio Kylian Mbappe, the Brazilian Neymar and the newcomer, the Argentine star Lionel Messi.
