Israeli police storm Al-Aqsa Mosque to prevent a march in support of prisoners

The Israeli police forces stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque this Friday afternoon, following a march organized by Jerusalemites in support of the prisoners, against the repressive measures against them.

And the Palestinian News Agency reported, this evening, Friday, that dozens of Israeli soldiers and police stormed Al-Aqsa and were stationed on the roof of the Dome of the Rock.

The Israeli soldiers were not satisfied with that, but also occupied the vicinity of the Bab al-Rahma prayer hall, prevented the organization of a peaceful march in support of the Palestinian prisoners in general, and pushed additional military reinforcements.

A march was launched in Al-Aqsa Mosque, today, after Friday prayers, during which the participants raised the Palestinian flag and pictures of the prisoners.

This march coincides with other Palestinian activities in several governorates in the West Bank, at the invitation of the national and Islamic forces, and the activities of the peaceful popular resistance, in support of the Palestinian prisoners in general, and a rejection of the continuation of their abuse, at a time when Israeli prisons are witnessing repression and abuse around the clock, As a result of punitive measures against prisoners.

For its part, the Israeli broadcaster, Kan, claimed that Friday prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque ended in a state of relative silence, despite dozens of demonstrators waving Palestinian flags.

It is noteworthy that six Palestinian prisoners managed to escape from the high-security Israeli Gilboa Prison, which is located near the Palestinian city of Bisan, in northern Israel, at dawn last Monday, and they have not been found, until now.
