The US company, Microsoft, has issued a serious warning of cyber-attacks chasing Office files.
Microsoft explained, according to what was reported by the specialized technical site Engadget, that some attackers are exploiting a vulnerability to execute remote code using Office files.
The report indicated that Microsoft discovered a vulnerability in Windows servers, especially versions of Windows 7 and 10.
Through this vulnerability, attackers can send malicious software in Office files, which, once opened, carry malicious software that enables hackers to remotely control the victim’s computer.
A number of security researchers have reported about this vulnerability in the “Office” files, which they described as a serious threat to all devices running the “Windows” operating system.
Microsoft has not yet released a security update to address this dangerous vulnerability, but it has advised users not to open any untrusted Office files.
