The former Real Madrid striker, Brazilian star Ronaldo Nazario, said that the transfer of Argentine player Lionel Messi to Paris Saint-Germain does not mean that the French club is guaranteed to win the Champions League.
“It is still too early to say who will win the Champions League,” Ronaldo said in comments reported by Western media.
The current president of Real Valladolid added: “Paris Saint-Germain is in the lead, but there are many factors that affect the game.”
He continued, “I played with Real Madrid for about 5 seasons and did not win the Champions League with them.”
He continued, “Winning is not a matter of mathematics at all, even if you have the best player in your team, and this also applies to Saint-Germain.”
Paris Saint-Germain has one of the strongest offensive forces in club football, with new player Lionel Messi joining Brazilian Neymar and French striker Kylian Mbappe.
Six-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi joined the Parisian club from Barcelona and made his Ligue 1 debut late last month.
