An expert reveals the causes of poisoning with household insecticides

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority has provided a set of tips to avoid poisoning when using insecticides at home.

This came in a video clip that the authority published on its Twitter account, under the title “Awareness Minute”.

Bader Al-Hadlaq, the first scientific evaluation specialist, said in the commission’s video that pesticides are chemicals that play an important role in pest control.

Al-Hadlaq explained that the first reasons that may lead to pesticide poisoning is not following the instructions on the pesticide label and safety instructions when using.

The scientific specialist indicated that there are other reasons that may lead to pesticide poisoning, including the wrong use of it by staying in the pesticide site after its use, or storing pesticides in unsecured places, such as leaving them in the sun or leaving them within the reach of children.

He explained that spilling the pesticide on the skin or eyes directly may also cause pesticide poisoning.
