Ronaldo sends a message to football fans after the “historic title”

The Portuguese player, Cristiano Ronaldo, sent a message to the Portuguese fans and football fans, after setting himself the record as the historical goal scorer for the national teams, after scoring two goals against Ireland in the fourth round of the European qualifying for the World Cup.

“I can’t even begin to express myself in words, I’m incredibly happy,” Ronaldo said, via his Facebook and Instagram accounts. “But finally and first of all, because scoring 111 goals for Portugal means 111 moments like the one we lived today, moments of union and happiness for millions and millions of Portuguese citizens around the world, for them every sacrifice is worth it.”

Ronaldo scored Portugal’s two goals, reaching his 111th goal in the national team shirt, setting the record for the most goals scored in a national team shirt, breaking Ali Daei’s record, who scored 109 goals in an Iran shirt.

Ronaldo scored 33 goals in the World Cup qualifiers, 31 goals in the Euro qualifiers, 19 goals in friendly matches, 14 goals in the Euro, 7 goals in the World Cup, 5 goals in the European Nations League and two goals in the Confederations Cup.
