There are quite a few daily mistakes we make that damage our facial skin.
Paula Blake Diane, expert in advanced cosmetics and natural medicine, has collected all the most common mistakes you make and damage you may not be aware of.
1. Lots of touch
How many times a day do you think you touch your face? If your answer moves on average about 20 or more times in an hour, you are probably right.
We all do it without noticing and touch our nose, mouth, cheeks, and eyes all day long. We fiddle with our facial skin, spend hours in front of the mirror and closely examine any redness, cuts, or spots of pigmentation.
Touching the skin with unclean hands transfers contaminants to the skin, nose and mucous membranes of the eyes – these are the easiest ways for viruses to enter our bodies.
2. Excessive cleaning of facial skin
Keeping your skin clean is important and necessary but sometimes there are situations where people over-clean their facial skin, thinking it is beneficial.
Excessive cleansing can have the opposite effect, as in every cleansing we remove layers of skin and this causes the mammary glands to produce more sebum secretions as compensation. This can cause blisters to appear.
If you start to get pimples in new places that weren’t there before, you may be cleaning your face a lot.
3. Misdiagnosis of skin type
There are 4 common skin types: oily skin, combination skin, dry skin, and normal skin (a combination of oily and dry areas), and each skin type has its own products.
Incompatibility between lotions (creams and serums of all kinds) and skin type can certainly lead to blisters. Therefore, it is recommended to go to a specialized cosmetologist and diagnose the type of skin and then apply the preparations that suit it.
4. Dirty makeup brushes
Every woman owns at least 4-5 makeup brushes of different sizes and types. When was the last time you cleaned it? Thousands of bacteria and oil accumulate on your makeup brushes, which you use every morning (sometimes twice daily) on your face.
In general, the brush should be cleaned after each use (rinsing with water and high-quality soap and drying completely – this is enough).
It’s true that brushes aren’t easy to wash after every use, but cleaning once a week is a good start.
5. Do not change the bed
How often do you change bed? You go to bed every night and sometimes in the afternoon after a day full of pollution, sweat, and other things staining your pillowcase and sheets.
Every day more and more layers of pollutants accumulate there and you go to sleep with all these pollutants touching the skin of your face.
It is true that the home is not a hotel where the bed linen is changed every day, but try to change the pillow case at least twice a week and all the bed linen once a week. Bedding made of high quality fabrics such as cotton is preferred.
6. Products that are not suitable for weather conditions
In the hot season, it is recommended to avoid heavy and oily products that clog the skin and “suffocate” it.
The skin is an organ that wants to breathe, its products absorb sweat and pollutants and make breathing difficult for it. Use light and pleasant creams, and it is also recommended that you combine sun protection factors with vitamins that nourish the skin.
7. Excessive tension
Our psychological state greatly affects our physical state, and the same is true of our facial skin.
There are quite a few causes of stress and anxiety 24/7, and the psychological effect causes unpleasant skin symptoms, ranging from acne, seborrhea, rosacea and many other effects.
