5 people were injured in a shooting at a petrol station in Lebanon

Five people were injured in a fistfight that escalated into the use of firearms, between a number of young people and owners of a gas station in the town of Abbasiya, south of Lebanon.

Today, Saturday, An-Nahar newspaper quoted the owners of the station as saying that a group of young men in the town of Abbasiya stormed the station and forced the workers to open it and fill petrol by force.

The station’s owners also accused the young men of assaulting its employees and shooting, which resulted in the injury of a station worker.

In protest of the injury of 5 of their sons, as a result of the shooting, the people of Abbasiya blocked the main road with cement cubes, stones and cars.

For its part, the security forces closed the station with red wax by order of the Public Prosecution, while the army imposed a security cordon around the station and prevented approaching it.

In this context, the mayor of Abbasiya municipality, Ali Ezz El-Din, called on the security forces to apprehend those involved and bring them to justice.
