Today, Friday, the White House announced that US President Joe Biden has agreed to give his country’s military leadership complete freedom to conduct operations against ISIS militants (banned in the Russian Federation) in Afghanistan.
Following Biden’s meeting with members of the national security team, the White House issued a statement saying:
“During the next few days, the evacuation mission from Afghanistan will be at its most dangerous.”
President Biden confirmed to the military leadership that he agreed to grant it “the freedom of action to conduct operations against ISIS in Afghanistan in order to protect our military.”
It is noteworthy that yesterday, Thursday, two suicide bombings took place in the vicinity of the airport of the Afghan capital, Kabul, carried out by the terrorist organization “ISIS” (banned in the Russian Federation), which claimed responsibility for the attacks, which left a death toll of 110 people.
For its part, the Pentagon announced that “the two suicide bombings killed 13 American soldiers and wounded 18, stressing, however, that the evacuation process from Afghanistan will continue.”
Today, Friday, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken confirmed that “more than 100,000 people have been evacuated from Kabul, and this is a testament to the courage and determination of those who contribute to this vital mission.”
