One of the most prominent Italian mafia leaders arrested in the UAE

The media reported that one of the most prominent leaders of the Italian “Camorra” mafia, Raffaele Imperiale, was recently arrested in the UAE.

Italian press reports confirmed today, Thursday, that Imperiale, 46, who is considered one of the most dangerous drug smugglers in Europe, was arrested in Dubai as part of an investigation conducted by Italian law enforcement agencies, with the participation of the international police “Interpol” and the European police “Europol”.

The reports pointed out that the arrest was carried out on the fourth of August, but there were no reports of it until today.

And the media indicated that Imperiale, who fled to Dubai several years ago, tops the wanted list of the Central Command of the Italian Criminal Police.

The name of this criminal made headlines after police found in his home in 2016 two paintings by the great Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh that had been stolen from a museum.
