The popular short video application “Tik Tok” has launched new tools that provide notifications to teens, including banning the use of a number of services at certain times.
The report, published on the specialized technical website “GSM Arena”, indicated that “Tik Tok” will introduce in its new notices limiting the use of a number of services in the evening to reduce the interaction of children during those periods.
Under these tools, “Tik Tok” will stop sending push notifications to users between the ages of 13 and 15, after nine in the evening, and after ten in the evening for children aged between 16 and 17 years.
And through this policy, “Tik Tok” seeks to reduce the pressure of interaction, after a certain hour, for a number of age groups, which some research has shown are more susceptible to the modern pressure of social networks than adults.
The “Tik Tok” application will also tighten restrictions on private messages in the evening, for everyone under the age of 16, and to operate it will require activating it manually from the settings for their parents.
It is scheduled to launch these features first in Hong Kong, to be circulated to all countries of the world at a later time.
