Yasser Turki qualifies for the triple jump final and revives Algeria’s hopes of winning the Olympics

Today, Tuesday, Algerian champion Yasser Triki qualified for the final round of the triple jump competitions at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Triki was able to obtain the final visa after achieving a jump of 17.05 meters, in the third attempt, in the triple jump competitions, while he will compete in the final competition next Thursday.

This qualification comes to raise hopes again that Algeria will win a medal in the Tokyo Olympics, in light of the successive disappointments of Algerian athletes in various competitions.

Meanwhile, boxer Iman Khalif was eliminated in the quarter-finals after losing to Ireland’s Kelly Ann Harrington 5-0, in the weight between 57 and 60 kg.

Algerian wrestler Abdelmalek Merabet was eliminated from the 67kg qualifiers after losing 8-0 to Korean Hansoo Ryo.

Although Algerian wrestler Bashir Sayed Azara qualified for the quarter-finals after beating his Chinese opponent 11-1 in the final price round, he was eliminated today against Ukrainian Plinyuk Zahan.
