A new law in Morocco obliges doctors to write their medical prescriptions in a clear handwriting

A new law issued in Morocco and published in the Official Gazette obliges doctors to write their medical prescriptions in a legible and understandable font.
The new law stipulates in its first chapter on the quality of treatments, which is included in the second section, that “the doctor must prescribe the treatment with sufficient clarity.”

As stated in Article 39 of this law, the doctor must write “the treatment in a legible hand, making sure that the patient and his surroundings understand it, and ensure that it is applied well.”

Moreover, Article 37 of the same law obliges the doctor to “behave properly and faithfully towards patients, and to ensure responsible and caring treatment based on proven scientific data and acquired with the assistance of his assistants, and if necessary by requesting complementary opinions and services.”

It is noteworthy that the issuance of this law comes in connection with the common criticisms of doctors in their prescriptions for their patients, which are often characterized by an incomprehensible fast line.
