Wes Anderson, the director of The Grand Budapest Hotel, Isle of Dogs and many more colourful oddities, is working on a brand new film.
As reported by TheWrap, the film has cast Tom Hanks in a minor role. He’ll be joining Tilda Swinton, Adrien Brody and Bill Murray in the projects, and… that’s all we know about it at the moment.
Anderson has written and directed the film, and it will be filming in Spain soon. But as to what it’s about, we’ve got no idea.
The director’s latest film The French Dispatch (or, if you want the full title, (The French Dispatch of the Liberty, Kansas Evening Sun) was meant to release a year ago but it was delayed due to the pandemic.
Following three different storylines, the film stars Swinton, Brody and Murray, as well as a large cast including Benicio del Toro, Léa Seydoux, Jason Schwartzman, Frances McDormand, Timothée Chalamet, Saoirse Ronan, Jeffrey Wright, Owen Wilson, Liev Schreiber, Edward Norton, Willem Dafoe, Elisabeth Moss and Anjelica Huston.
You might have noticed a lot of Anderson veterans there, making the film essentially his Avengers, in a sense.
The film finally premiered at Cannes earlier this month, and is scheduled for release in October.
