Michael B Jordan working on new Superman project

Michael B Jordan recently responded to rumours that he would be playing Superman in a new film project from Star Wars’ JJ Abrams.

But now it has come to light that he might be involved in another adaptation of the franchise, and in a different capacity at that.

According to reports from Collider, the actor and his production company Outlier Society are meant to be developing a HBO Max limited series based on the character Val-Zod, who takes up the mantle in an alternate continuity in the comic books.

Like the Abrams reboot, the project is expected to have a black lead, although Val-Zod has always been Black in the comics, while the film is going to cast a Black actor as the usually white Kal-El/Clark Kent.

The publication states that it’s possible that Jordan could star in the project, but at the moment the company have just hired a writer.

One DC superhero film that the star is working on is a Static Shock movie, based on the comic and 2000’s animated TV series that brought the character to the popular consciousness.

He’s also making his directorial debut with the third Creed movie, while the Black Panther sequel Wakanda Forever has just started production, and lots of people think that the actor may be involved in some capacity, although nothing has been confirmed.
