UEFA bans England before Euro 2020 final

The European Football Association (UEFA) announced today, Saturday, that it had punished the English Football Association with a fine of 30,000 euros ($36,000).

UEFA added that

“The reason for the fine is the misconduct of the English public.”
He explained that “the English fans directed the laser beams at Denmark goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel during a crucial moment in the match between the two countries’ teams in the semi-finals of the European Championship 2020 last week.”

England fans also booed and lit fireworks, during the playing of the national anthem before Denmark’s semi-final match and Germany’s match in the round of 16, according to “Reuters”.

Television footage showed an England fan pointing green lasers at Schmeichel, while England captain Harry Kane took a penalty in extra time to give his country a 2-1 win at Wembley Stadium last Wednesday.

England are seeking to win their first major football title since winning the World Cup in 1966 when they meet Italy in the final match of the European Nations Cup “Euro 2020” at Wembley Stadium in the British capital, London, on Sunday.
