A video game that grabs the title of “most expensive game ever sold”

A video game geek bought a game on Friday at a price that broke the previous record for the most expensive game ever sold.

A sealed copy of the Nintendo (NES) video game “The Legend of Zelda” was sold for $870,000 at an auction, surpassing the Super Mario Brothers video game that sold in a month. Last April, it was worth $660,000, which was the title, according to The Verge.

As for the secret behind selling this game at this fantastic price, the Heritage Auctions confirmed that it is the oldest sealed copy anyone can hope to obtain, as well as the only copy from one of the first productions of the game “The Legend of Zelda”, which It was only produced for a few months in late 1987.

And about the game “Super Mario Brothers”, which in April won the title of “the most expensive game ever sold”, the Dallas-based auction company (USA) said that it was bought as a Christmas gift in 1986, and the buyer did not touch it until the day he found it at the time earlier this year, according to the Associated Press.

“It’s been at the bottom of my desk the whole time since the day I bought it, I’ve never thought of anything,” he said.

A 1985 copy of the game sold for 114,000 dollars in July 2020, and at that time earned the highest price ever for a video game.

A sealed copy of “Super Mario Bros. 3” was also sold and broke the previous record last November, with 156,000 dollars.
