Filming began in Moscow for the movie “Voland” (The Devil), based on the famous novel “The Master and Margarita” and directed by the Russian director, Mikhail Lukshin.
A spokesman for the Russian company, “Mars Media”, which produced the film, said that the filming process ends in Moscow next October, and then continues in Petersburg and Malta.
The film’s producer, Robin Deschishan, said that “Voland” is one of our creatively ambitious cinematic projects. We have started shooting it and we hope that we will be able to realize the script on which we pin high hopes. We also hope that the film will attract viewers of all generations who love Mikhail Bulgakov’s novel “The Master and Margarita”.
It is reported that young Russian director Mikhail Lokshin is known for directing the romantic drama film “Silver Skates”. The film is expected to be shown in 2022 in Russian cinemas. The film stars Julia Snigir, who plays Margarita, and Yevgeny Tsyganov, who plays Voland.
The film tells the story of a writer whose play was canceled in a Moscow theater, then met Margarita, fell in love with her, and began writing a novel about Satan.
It is worth noting that Mars Media, Amedia Production, and Profit produced the film with the support of the Russian Cinema Foundation.
